Naga outfits sign MoU

NONEY, Jun 30: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Zeilad Zeliangrong Region of NSCN/GPRN and the Zeliangrong Region of NSCN/GPRN-K (Niki) at Rongdai Village, Nungba Sub-division, Noney district today.
The MoU was signed under the "Olive Branch Mission" that aims at “Strengthening Naga unity through the unity and resolve of the Zeliangrong people.”
Speaking on behalf of the Collective Leadership of NSCN/GPRN, Zeilad Region, Member DG Robert said, “Despite differences that may have existed in the past, we have chosen the path of reconciliation and mutual respect. This decision reflects our commitment to place the interest of our people above all other considerations.”
Salemyang Gangmei, Member of Collective Leadership, NSCN/GPRN highlighted the importance of unity among the Zeliangrong people for the larger Naga cause.
Several prominent CSO leaders and religious leaders attended the programme. They delivered solidarity messages and applauded both groups for signing the MoU for the cause of Naga unity.
The leaders stressed the need to continue such reconciliation efforts in the interest of the people.
