IMPHAL, Jul 9: Even as poor road conditions continue to hinder transport, two security convoys escorting loaded trucks and tankers bound for Imphal are stranded on the National Highway 37 at several areas under Noney, said sources.
The two convoys escorting 300 vehicles left Jiribam for Imphal today. The vehicles include as many as 109 tankers carrying fuel and 191 goods trucks.
Meanwhile, 150 loaded vehicles from Jiribam and 225 loaded vehicles earlier stranded at Khongsang railway station reached Imphal today.
Due to lack of security convoy, there will be no convoy escorting empty trucks and tankers from Imphal to Jiribam. However, two security convoys escorting loaded vehicles will leave Jiribam for Imphal tomorrow, said sources.
