State Level Subroto Cup : Stage set for U17 Girls’ semis

IMPHAL, Jul 9 : The semi-final line of the U17 Girls’ competition in the State Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament has been completed today with Langjing High School overwhelming St Peter’s Hr Secondary School 16-0 at Langjing Achouba Football Turf Ground.
Group A winners Langjing High School who are representing Imphal West district are all set to play Group B runners up Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya of Chandel district in the first semi-final match while Group B winners Meitei Mayek High School, Imphal East district will lock horns with Group A runners up Chil Chil Asian Mission School, Kangpokpi.
In the final Group A match, Langjing High School rode on Rimchuila’s masterclass to crush St Peter’s Hr Secondary School 16-0 today. Rimchuila toyed around their rivals’ defense set up to score 8 goals alone in this lopsided encounter as Th Shirlie Chanu (13’, 14’), Lamnganbi (31’, 40’), K Miraluxmi (39’, 46’) contributed two goals apiece and M Narmada (9’) and N Luxmi (45’) netted a goal apiece.
In the final Group B match, Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya beat Iramdam Maheikol of Kakching district by 2-1 goals to seal their place in the semi-finals.
Charanga TN (23’) and Charanga Maring (47’) scored to help the Chandel school seal the 2-1 comeback win over the Langmeidong school (Iramdam Maheikol) after K Rosaline found the opener for the latter team in the 19th minute.
U17 Boys
The day also saw CT Hr Secondary School, Imphal West district and AG Memorial Academy, Thoubal post contrasting wins to boost their knock-out round hopes.
In the Group A encounter, Th Roshan scored a first half brace (19’, 28’) to hand CT Hr Secondary School a 2-1 win over St Peter’s Hr Secondary School, Chandel. Shilshi Monosh scored the consolation goal for the Chandel team in the 60th minute.
Later in the Group B match, AG Memorial Academy romped to an 8-0 win over Kakching Hr Secondary School, Kakching district thanks to trebles from Yoyo Sagolsem (10’, 26’, 31’) and Kh Mohandsome (64’, 70’, 70+2’).
Competition Oinam (55’) and Senjam Victor (70+4’) were also on target for the winners in this lop-sided encounter.
