Lift NFSA rice in advance : CAF&PD

IMPHAL, Jul 9: The Directorate of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (CAF&PD) has directed all concerned district authorities to ensure advance lifting of rice allocated under NFSA for the months of August, September and October, 2026, and complete its lifting and distribution on or before August 31, 2026.
In compliance with a letter issued by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, the Directorate of CAF&PD has issued a circular to this effect.
The same circular has also instructed the concerned district authorities to submit the required indent immediately to facilitate timely release and lifting of stocks.
The circular also appealed to all NFSA beneficiaries to collect their entitled ration for the months of August, September and October, 2026 in advance from their respective Fair Price Shops (FPSs).
Further, the Food Corporation of India (FCI), Imphal, has been instructed to ensure adequate availability of rice stocks at all depots for advance lifting, coordinate with district authorities for smooth lifting operations, and make adequate labour and loading arrangements to ensure timely lifting of foodgrains.
The Directorate has also directed all concerned district authorities to closely monitor the advance lifting and distribution process, ensure that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of entitled foodgrains, and submit the advance lifting and distribution progress reports on a regular basis.
