Man arrested with over 3 Kg Ganja at airport

IMPHAL, Jul 10: A 24-year-old person was arrested with over 3 kilograms of Ganja at the Imphal International Airport yesterday.
The arrested person, identified as Albert Khuman, hails from Moirang Kumam Leikai and at present he was staying at Moirang Mayai Leikai.
He was found carrying 3.2 kilograms of Ganja in his luggage at the airport yesterday.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West today remanded Albert Kumam to police custody till July 15.
Before the CJM Imphal West, the prosecutor submitted that the Ganja in three plastic packets were found inside a luggage belonging to the accused during random checking.
The accused was then handed over to the Singjamei police.
The prosecutor said during preliminary interrogation, the accused has admitted to have committed the charges levelled against him and the investigation is in its initial stage.
The prosecutor then prayed to the Court to send the accused to police for 6 days for swift investigation and arrest of his associates.
The CJM after hearing the submission, sent the accused to police custody till July 15.
