Protest demands justice

IMPHAL, Jul 10: A sit-in protest demanding justice for the six Naga civilians allegedly killed by Kuki armed groups was staged at Khurai Lamlong Keithel today.
The demonstration was organised by local clubs and Meira Paibi groups from various areas of Khurai.
The protesters also demanded that the Government arrest and take stringent action against members of Kuki armed groups involved in the killing of six Meitei civilians, including three children, in Jiribam.
They further sought action against those responsible for the bomb attack at Tronglaobi, in which a newborn girl and her five-year-old brother were killed.
In addition, the demonstrators called for the immediate abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement between the Government and Kuki militant groups.
They also demanded that KNF (P) be declared a terrorist organisation and urged the Government to complete the updation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) of Manipur before the commencement of the Census exercise.
