IMPHAL, Jul 10 : Even as the Saturday holiday for Government employees has been restored, the Manipur Government Services Federation (MGSF) has announced that its cease-work strike will continue until its other pending demands are resolved in an honourable manner.
Addressing a press conference at the Civil Secretariat, Mantripukhri, today, MGSF president N Bimol Singh said the cease-work strike launched jointly by the MGSF, Manipur State Pensioners' Union (MPSU) and the Manipur Secretariat Services Association (MSSA) since July 4 has received support from Government employees across various districts of the State.
He said the employees are demanding enhancement of the retirement age from 60 to 62 years, revision of the Dearness Allowance (DA) for State Government employees to bring it at par with that of their Central Government counterparts, constitution of a State Pay Commission for implementation of the 8th Pay Commission, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), discontinuation of the engagement of retired employees, and regularisation of contractual, casual and other temporary staff, among other demands. He clarified the allegations that the employees' protest is politically motivated are baseless.
