State Level U-17 Subroto Cup Meitei Mayek HS vs Langjing HS in girls’ final showdown; TG English School vs AG Memorial Academy in boys’ title clash

IMPHAL, Jul 10 : Meitei Mayek High School will square off against Langjing High School in girls’ final showdown in the ongoing State Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament of U17 boys and girls while TG English School will lock horns with AG Memorial Academy in boys’ title clash.
Meitei Mayek High School of Imphal East district reached the final with a comprehensive 15-0 win over Chil Chil Asian Mission School, Kangpokpi today in the first semi-final match.
Th Martina (7’, 8’, 44’, 47’) and Agunwangliu (3’, 9’, 20’) shared a bulk of 7 goals to guide Meitei Mayek HS to the final today as L Russia (1’, 5’), Y Linthoi (4’, 46’), H Victoria (40’ 42’) shared 6 goals. N Jasmine (17’) and K Asha (21’) also added a goal apiece as the Kangpokpi side failed to convert any of their chances.
Later in the second semi-final match, Langjing HS rode on goals from M Narmada (11’, 26’, 49’, 59’), G Rinchuila (22’, 39’, 51’), N Luxmi (36’, 44’), Th Shirley (12’) and M Lamnganbi (30’) to brush aside Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Tengnoupal district 11-0 and set up the final date with Meitei Mayek HS.
Boys
TG English School, Bishnupur district, meanwhile, pulled off a 3-0 win over ASUFII Christian Institute, Senapati thanks to L Nelson (42’), Ngamnungba (55’) and Lanchenba (61’) to progress into the final.
Later in the second semi-final match, AG Memorial Academy, Thoubal edged out CT Hr Secondary School, Imphal West courtesy of an own goal conceded by L Naocha 3 minutes into the stoppage time (70+3’).
The Thoubal team enjoyed a 2-0 lead with S Yoyo (30’) and Competison (47’) but L Naocha halved the deficit for the Imphal West side at the stroke of the hour mark before Ch Nganba drew level in the 70th minute.
L Naocha however fumbled in the stoppage time to go down 2-3.
