4 held for alleged sexual assault

IMPHAL, Jul 10: One Laishram Rocky (23) and three juveniles have been taken into custody in connection with an alleged sexual assault on two minor girls at the residence of one of the juveniles located at Thanga in the intervening night of July 8 and July 9.
Laishram Rocky s/o Ningthem of Wangjing Hodamba Maning Leikai presently working as a salesman at a pharmacy located at Pong Lambi, Porompat and three juveniles allegedly picked up one of the victims from Pong Lambi in a four-wheeler vehicle and drove toward Khurai and picked up the second victim in the evening of July 8, sources said.
They drove toward Thanga. On the way, they allegedly bought liquor, juice and some eatable items and went to the house of one of the juveniles located at Thanga.
The said house is kept locked as the juvenile has been staying in a rented house somewhere in the Pong lambi area, alleged the sources.
The minor girls were given juice by the alleged accused and the juveniles on the same night after which the girls fell unconscious.
When they woke up in the next morning, the victims found themselves naked on a double bed along with the alleged accused and the juveniles, claimed the sources.
They came back from Thanga and the victims were dropped at the AAA Ground, Kongpal after which the victims went to the house of one of the victims.
Families of the minor victims and members of the Social Welfare Department reported the matter to police yesterday evening for taking up necessary action against the alleged accused and the juveniles for committing sexual assault.
The alleged accused and the juveniles were apprehended this morning by a team of Imphal East District Police from their respective places.
As the incident of the alleged sexual assault took place in Bishnupur district, an FIR has been registered at Bishnupur Women Police Station. The accused and the juveniles were taken into custody this afternoon for further investigation and necessary legal action, said the sources.
