IMPHAL, Jul 11: A candlelight vigil was held today at the JNIMS mortuary in memory of the six Naga men who were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei on May 13 and later butchered by Kuki armed groups.
The programme was organised by the Co-ordinating Body, Khurai; Relief Committee of JNIMS; Kongpal Kongkham Leikai Women Welfare Association; and Khurai Chaithabi Leirak Women's Society. During the programme, the organisers urged the Government to ensure justice for the victims by arresting and prosecuting all those involved in the abduction and killing of the six Naga civilians. Notably, the mortal remains of the six victims were recovered on June 10. Since then, the bodies have been kept at the JNIMS mortuary, with their families refusing to claim them until justice is delivered.
