UTA take healthy lead with 35 medals including 9 gold

IMPHAL, Jul 12 : UTA scored 2 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze medals on day 2 to amass 35 medals (9 gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze) take a healthy lead in the 19th Governor’s Cup Taekwondo being underway at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.
TTS Nambol are second in the medal tally on 5 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals as NSA are third on 3 gold and 3 bronze medals.
UTA’s L Aleevia bagged the first gold medal for the unit in the junior girls’ -63 kg category competition by defeating LTA’s Ksh Lingjel in the final bout before Abenao Takhellambam bagged the second gold medal in the junior girls’ -68 kg category competition by defeating PTA’s Wahengbam Deepali.
The day also saw Neha Das of NSA (-42 kg), Mayengbam Telesia of ASTA (-44 kg), Kongbrailatpam Sonia of KTA (-46 kg), L Yaiphalembi of LTA and others win junior girls’ titles.
