SUK to hold State level spelling competition, Kanglei-Lon contest

IMPHAL, Jul 13 : The Students’ Union of Kangleipak (SUK) has announced that it will organise the ‘SUK State Level Spelling Competition’ and the ‘Kangleipak Pumbagi Ariba Lon (Kanglei-lon) gi Wahanthok Changdamnaba’ as part of its annual initiative to promote language and learning among students.
In a press release, SUK said the spelling competition will have two categories.
Category A is for students of Class V to VII and Category B for Class VIII to X. The Kanglei-Lon competition is open to postgraduate students.
The winners will receive cash prizes of Rs 20,000 for 1st, Rs 15,000 for 2nd and Rs 10,000 for 3rd along with certificate and memento. All finalists will get consolation prizes.
The spelling competition’s 1st preliminary round will be held on August 30, 2nd preliminary on September 6 and final on September 13.
For Kanglei-Lon, preliminary is on September 6 and final on September 13.
The Students’ Union of Kangleipak appealed to schools, colleges, universities and teachers to extend cooperation.
