19th Governor’s Taekwondo Cup 2026 UTA dominate in Cadet boys’ competition on Day 4

IMPHAL, Jul 14 : UTA Cadet boys clinched 4 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals to further boost their medal tally on Day 4 of the ongoing 19th Governor’s Taekwondo Cup 2026.
LTA meanwhile bagged 3 gold and 2 bronze medals  in the Cadet Boys’ competition as PTA picked 2 gold and NSA won 1 gold medal.
Sinthoiba Puyam of UTA sealed the Cadet Boys’ -33 kg category gold by defeating Darwin Moirangthem of TTS, Nambol as NSA’s Ngasepam Yuhenba beat PTA’s Pheiroijam Lanchenba for the -37 kg category title.
UTA’s Ngambaton Ahanthem bagged the -41 kg category gold by defeating NSA’s Usham Arlex as LTA’s Oinam Suman got the better of Soibam Biraj of UTA for the -45 kg category title.
PTA’s Wayengbam Naresh bagged the first gold medal for the unit in the Cadet cadet by beating Sandham Nelson of TTS, Nambol in the -49 kg category final as UTA’s Samson Nongthombam beat Hensana Nongthombam for the -53 kg category title.
LTA’s Khumanthem Lanchenba meanwhile sealed the -57 kg category gold beating Lukram Nawal of NSA in the final while LTA’s Lourembam Henba beat PTA’s Venus Tharoijam for the -61 kg category title.
The -65 kg category title meanwhile went to PTA’s Wairokpam Kapil who defeated L Tomthinganba of UTA in the final bout before UTA’s Ningombam Nelji beat compatriot Y Nongpoknganba in the final.
Sub-Jr Girls
The day also saw Eriksana Nepram of PTA (-14 kg) and Ningombam Gayatri of UTA (-16 kg) emerging winners in the sub-junior girls’ competition as Lamnganbi Thoudam of PTA beat UTA’s Nongleima Rajkumari for the -18 kg category title.
Arya Ningombam of TTS, Nambol meanwhile picked the -20 kg category title by defeating Hijam Sylvia of PTA in the final as Soraisham Athoisana of TTS, Nambol beat KTA’s Athokpam Tiya for the -22 kg category gold.
The -24 kg category title went to MTA’s Konjengbam Lingjelthoibi who beat ASTA’s N Henthoibi in the final while the -26 kg category gold was won by Thangjam Lanchenbi of PTA who beat compatriot Th Lanchenbi in the final.
Sarangthem Lanthoi of UTA meanwhile beat Nandeibam Sanathoi of PTA for the -29 kg category title as Ananya Sanoujam won PTA the -32 kg category gold by beating CTIS’s S Preety in the final.
Wahengbam Bimika of TTS Nambol on the other hand claimed the -35 kg category title beating PTA’s Kh Langlen in the final while Naorem Lingjel of PTA beat UTA’s Senjam Langdai for the -38 kg category gold.
LTA’s Ahongsangbam Rina meanwhile bagged the -41 kg category title by defeating Ksh Athena of NLTS as ASTA’s Sougaijam Jinet beat LTA’s K Velona for the -47 kg category title.
The day also saw Okram Smritileima of UTA fetching the +47 kg category gold by defeating compatriot Hazel Maisnam in the final bout.
