IMPHAL, Jul 14 : The State Cabinet has decided to set up a ‘climate centre’ during a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Mantripukhri at 11 am today with Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand in the chair.
The Cabinet also agreed to amend bylaws for ease of doing business under the “unified zoning/used regulation bye-laws for the master plan areas of Manipur 2026”.
Cabinet Ministers Losii Dikho, Govindas Konthoujam and Khuraijam Loken attended the meeting while Nemcha Kipgen joined through video conferencing.
The Cabinet meeting approved the establishment of a “State Climate Centre” under City Investment to Innovate, Integrate and Sustain (CITIS 2.0) Programme, Manipur.
The Cabinet also approved promulgation of the Manipur Fire and Emergency Service Ordinance 2026 to update and improve the existing Fire Safety Act.
The Cabinet further agreed to amend bye-laws for ease of doing business under the “unified zoning/used regulation bye-laws for the master plan areas of Manipur 2026”.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand wrote in a social media post, “Chaired a Cabinet meeting today at the Cabinet Hall, Secretariat, where we reviewed key policy matters and discussed important decisions aimed at strengthening governance, accelerating development and enhancing public service delivery across Manipur”.
Khemchand said that his Government remains committed to transparent, responsive and people-centric governance, working collectively to ensure the welfare, progress and prosperity of every citizen of the State.
On the other hand, MLAs Dr Thokchom Radheshyam and Dr Sapam Ranjan have been appointed as Government spokespersons with immediate effect. Chief Secretary Dr Puneet Kumar Goel issued an order to this effect today.
