IMPHAL, Jul 16: The recent visits to Bangalore and Delhi were to meet the Manipuri diaspora, and foster peaceful coexistence among communities, said former chairman of UNLF RK Meghen.
Speaking to reporters at his residence at Singjamei Kshetri Leikai today, Meghen said the visits were aimed at building unity and strengthening the bond between communities.
The ongoing conflicts in Manipur can only end when communities come together and raise their voice to the Government of India as one. This requires constructive dialogues, and the visits to Bangalore and Delhi were taken up in line with this, Meghen said.
The talks with the Manipuri diasporas in Ban-galore and Delhi were en- couraging.
"They clearly understand that prolonged violent conflicts will not do any good to the people and the State. They expressed their eagerness to restore peace and coexist," Meghen said.
