MSF calls for inclusion of drug use prevention education in school syllabus

IMPHAL, Jul 17: The Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) has urged the Directorate of Education (S) to incorporate drug use prevention education into curricula and syllabi of students from Classes V to XII.
The proposal to include drug use prevention and awareness education in the curricula and syllabi of Primary to Higher Secondary level is made with the objective of keeping the youth, especially students, away from intoxicants, said the MSF Imphal East District Committee in a letter to the Zonal Education Officer, Zone-II, Imphal East.
The proposal is aimed at building a healthy society, securing the future of the students and protecting them from the menace of drugs, it added.
It urged the ZEO Zone-II to take the lead responsibility in the initiative and impress upon the Directorate of Education (S) to take positive and prompt action in formulating the necessary curricula and syllabi in the interest of the students and the public of Manipur.
