Calls on CM

Imphal, Jul 16 : Chief Minister Yumnam Khem-chand Singh received Linthoingambi Laishram and her husband at the Chief Minister’s Bungalow, Babu-para, Imphal today.
During the meeting, the couple congratulated Khem-chand Singh on becoming the Chief Minister despite the challenging law and order situation in the State.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the consi- derable challenges of assuming office during this period, while expressing confidence that normalcy will be restored in the near future.
He recalled his recent visit to Jiribam as part of a peace initiative, stating that the trust deficit among the communities has been bridged in the district and that they are once again living together in peace.
The Chief Minister maintained that the loss of lives and damage to property caused by the unprecedented crisis are deeply disheartening.
He added that the Government is extending all possible support to protect the lives of the people and urged all communities to extend their support to the peace process to help restore peace and harmony and foster a cohesive environment.
Linthoingambi (Lin) Laishram is a noted actress, model, entrepreneur, and former National-level archer from Manipur.
After the meeting, the Chief Minister along with his wife had a traditional Khechri with the couple.
Later, the couple appealed to the people of Manipur, urging all communities to unite as one human family and embrace peace, harmony and compassion.
