IMPHAL, Jul 18: A Tangkhul villager from Sikibung (Sharkaphung) village, identified as Abner Kasar, was allegedly abducted by Kuki narco- terrorists on July 17, 2026 with an intention to kill him but the man somehow managed to escape from the hands of the Kuki narco-terrorists.
Meanwhile, the Sikibung (Sharkaphung) Village Authority has vehemently condemned the alleged "attempted murder" of Abner Kasar.
According to a press note issued by the village authority, the incident involved armed Kuki narco-terrorists who unlawfully entered the village premises.
A group of Kuki individuals trespassed onto private property to illegally fish using a dynamo from a pond belonging to Mathotmi Shinglai, a resident of Sharkaphung village.
The pond is located along the boundary between Shar-kaphung village and Thawai Kuki village.
Abner Kasar reportedly stumbled upon the scene while passing by.
Upon noticing Abner Kasar, seven armed individuals allegedly held him at gunpoint and forcibly took him to their side with the "clear intention of killing him."
During the ordeal, Abner Kasar was repeatedly told he would be killed, brutally beaten and struck multiple times with the butt of a firearm.
As Abner Kasar was reportedly being taken away to face certain death, he managed to escape by fleeing through the Havako stream.
The village authority credited his survival to extraordinary courage and determination.
The incident has prompted the village authority to heavily criticize the role of local law enforcement and security personnel, particularly BSF personnel, asking why the armed individuals were allowed to move and operate freely.
It further questioned why Kuki narco-terrorists are allowed to move about freely with sophisticated firearms, while, on the other hand, four innocent villagers remain in the custody of police after being arrested by the Bihar Regiment without any lawful or convincing justification.
The village authority warned that if the State Government and security forces fail to discharge their duties and secure law-abiding citizens, they will bear full responsibility for any further untoward incidents or consequences that arise in the coming days.
