MMAA hosts inaugural Manipur Athletics Relay Championship

IMPHAL, Jul 18 : The Manipur Masters Athletics Association (MMAA) today hosted inaugural Manipur Athletics Relay Championship 2026 at the stadium of SAI NERC Takyel.
The championship saw S Elanta, Md Daulad, L Tom Cruise and RK Tejkumar securing the 4x100 m men’s open relay gold by posting 43.70 seconds.
O Sanajaoba, W Thomas, K Devas and T Johnson on the other hand lay their hands on the 4x400 m men’s open relay gold as they clocked the best time of 3:24.71 (3 minutes 24.71 seconds). Finishing second were Surajkumar, Salam Mahen, N Alex and W Sidharth who finished the course in 3:26.76 as M Mukta, W Tyson, Y Punshiba and A Thoungamba claimed the bronze in 3:40.00.
In the 4x400 m mixed relay event, the quartet of W Thoisana, Th Maria, N Sunita and L Milan ran the best time of 4:22.15 to finish atop as Yaiphaba, Sophia, Devraj and Bembem sealed the silver by finishing the course in 4:25.73. S Mahen, Negita, Jogamani and Ashalata meanwhile claimed the bronze medal in 4:50.68.
Christina, Sunita, Shanti and Subita, meanwhile ran their way to the 4x400 m mixed age relay gold by posting the best time of 5:47.85 as 4x100 m mixed relay gold went to Y Babysana, Vivek Khumukcham, Somananda Salam and A Surbala who clocked 50.25 seconds.
The quartet of L Tom Cruise, Arshad Ali, Th Golakumar and M Mithoingamba were the 4x100 m relay winners for U16 men as they clocked 2:05.66.
4x400 m women’s open relay gold medal on the other hand went to the quartet of T Russia, Th Negita, Nevia Laishram and S Damayanti who registered the best time of 4:28.18.
Kh Umajit, NP Singh, Y Shamu and W Brojen were the fastest in the 4x400 m relay event for mixed age men’s section. They took 4:16.91 to win the gold.
U16 girls 4x100 m relay gold meanwhile went to the quartet of Nevia Laishram, Sanjana Huidrom, Saina Laishram and Paojiliu Kamei who ran 4:41.29 as women’s open 4x100 m mixed age relay gold was claimed by N Echanthoi, Uma, Ph Purnimashi and Th Memcha who clocked 1:04.19 to finish on top.
Shamurailatpam Thambal Sharma, Beishamayum Jogamani, Salam Samananda and Md Daulad Khan meanwhile notched up the men’s 4x100 m mixed age relay gold by finishing the course in 48.09 seconds. Mixed age women’s 4x1200 m gold medal meanwhile went to Huidrom Bhumeshwory Devi, L Bembem, Th Shanti and W Subita who registered 21:19.03 as Kh Wahid, Romen, Md Giyasuddin and Y Modhuchandra claimed the men’s mixed age 4x1200 m relay gold in 16:11.66.
