IMPHAL, Jul 1 : Demanding the revocation of the order cancelling the 2019 recruitment examinations of the Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) and the Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL), a large number of aspirants marched to the Chief Minister’s bungalow today.
As the protesters were not allowed to meet the Chief Minister, they staged a sit-in protest at a waiting shed opposite the Chief Minister’s bungalow.
They held placards with slogans such as "Revoke the cancellation order", "Declare MSPCL & MSPDCL 2019 results," "Declare the results by July 2016," "Justice for MSPCL & MSPDCL 2019 candidates," and "We prepared with hope, not for cancellation,"  among others.
Speaking to the media, Dabu Salam said that they had earlier served an ultimatum to the Manipur Government, seeking an assurance by June 30 that the cancellation of the recruitment examinations would be revoked.
The deadline has now expired, he said.
Saying that they took out the protest seeking an answer from the Government, he added that they, unfortunately, were not given the opportunity to air their grievances to the  Chief Minister. Withholding the recruitment process conducted in 2019 for a prolonged period and ultimately cancelling the examination on September 2, 2025, is unacceptable, he said and  urged the Government to revoke the cancellation order.
