Five State athletes to compete at 10th South Asian Karate C’ship

IMPHAL, Jul 2 : As many as 5 athletes and one official from Manipur are set to represent India at the 10th South Asian Karate Championship and U14 South Asian Karate Cup beginning on July 15 at Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka.
The championship is organised by the South Asian Karate Federation.
The State karatekas who are set to attend the event are Raghunat Oinam (U12 : Kumite +45 kg), Paringanba Chingakham (U14: Kumite -45 kg); Ph Arif Khan (U14 Kata and Kumite -50 kg); Thiyam Jeninson (U14; Kumite +50 kg; and Laishram Maninganba (Cadet : Kumite -52 kg).
Mutum Bankim on the other hand will accompany the team as officiating judge.
The National team will leave India for Dhaka on July 15, said the Manipur Amateur Karate-Do Association in a press release.
