Manipuri organisations fete Assam Minister Kaushik Rai

Jiribam, Jul 19: Representatives of the Manipuri Youths' Front of Assam (MYFA), Paona Club, Rongpur, and the Bir Tikendrajit Memorial Committee (BTMC), Rongpur, called on Assam Minister Kaushik Rai at his residence in Furlertal, Cachar district, on Saturday to congratulate him on his induction into the Assam Cabinet.
The delegation honoured the Minister by presenting him with a traditional Lengyan and extended their best wishes on his assumption of charge of the Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs, Housing & Urban Affairs, and Cooperation portfolios.
The meeting was attended by MYFA president Thangjam Brojen, advisor Seram Herajit, BTMC co-convenor M Rabindra, Kh Brajakumar, Paona Club president Kh Bishwajit, among others. During the interaction, the delegation invited the Minister to attend the unveiling ceremony of the statue of Bir Tikendrajit, scheduled to be held on August 13 along NH-37 at Rongpur Part II.
