Koireng-led UNLF condoles

IMPHAL, Jul 22: The Koireng-led UNLF has condoled the demise of well known actor, filmmaker, director and music composer Oken Amakcham.
Born at Kongba Kshetri Leikai, Imphal East in 1962, Oken Amakcham was devoted to art and culture and he worked tirelessly to promote the State’s art and culture, the Koireng-led UNLF said in a press release issued by Secretary of Publicity M Shak-hen.
It said that many of the films and songs produced by Oken Amakcham awakened the masses and inspired strong nationalism.
He also took active part and supported many National issues and movements.
Oken Amakcham’s younger brother Amakcham Rakhe died as an LV of the party, it mentioned.
Saying that the demise of Oken Amakcham is a big loss for the people of Manipur, the outfit has conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family and friends.
It also prayed that the departed soul may rest in eternal peace on the soil of the motherland.
