JTCM casts away ZUF(J)

IMPHAL, Jul 23: The Joint Tribes Council of Manipur (JTCM) has declared a non-cooperation movement against ZUF-J after the ZUF-J allegedly attacked Naga village guards at around 7.20 am on July 22, 2026 at Bitiang village, Noney district.
The JTCM said that Naga village guards have been guarding and protecting the ancestral territories of the Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei and Zeme communities against external intruders and encroachers.
This act of aggression constituted a direct assault upon the security and sovereignty of the four tribes, the JTCM remarked in a statement.
“Compounding this betrayal, the ZUF-J has been found to be operating in collusion with outsider and the “narco terrorist cannibal” Kuki force the sole and sworn enemy of our communities who have relentlessly harassed, murdered, encroached upon our territory, and most recently committed the heinous atrocity of mutilating six Naga sons”, it alleged.
Following this act of alleged betrayal by ZUF-J, an emergency meeting of all the four tribes was organised by the JTCM Working Committee today.
After extensive deliberation, the meeting unanimously resolved that the ZUF-J shall henceforth receive no cooperation––political, social or logistical–– from the Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei and Zeme communities, the JTCM said.
Any act of intimidation whether directed at individuals, leaders, organizations, or villages shall be met with zero tolerance and will invite strict, united response from all the four tribes, it said.
“No further warnings will be issued to any group or organization that engages in such conduct within the territorial jurisdictions of the Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Zeme communities”, says another resolution adopted at the meeting.
Any group or organization from Naga communities that steps forward to defend the territorial integrity and safeguard the Inpui, Liangmai, Rongmei, and Zeme communities shall find the four tribes and their Naga Village Guard standing firmly alongside them in unity and solidarity, read another resolution.
