33 Pvt health centres shut

THOUBAL, Jul 23: As many as 33 private health institutions have been closed in Thoubal district after inspections carried out from July 15 to 22, said the Chief Medical Officer and District Mission Director, DHS, Thoubal in a statement.
The inspections were carried out after several private healthcare institutions did not comply with a direction to get registered under the Manipur Nursing Homes and Clinics Registration Act, 1992 and Rules, 1993.
While 33 private health institutions were shut during the inspections, 14 of them have been allowed to resume operations following fulfilment of the prescribed statutory requirements, it added.
