48th State Level Senior Handball Tourney MPSC top women’s Pool A with two of two league round victories

IMPHAL, Jul 25 : MPSC ended women’s Pool A campaign on top with two of two wins to qualify for the knock-out round of the 48th State Level Senior Handball Tournament being hosted by YLK, Chingarel.
MPSC women registered a 10-8 win over hosts YLK to open their league account before getting 27-13 past KKLYDO, Kongpal for their second straight victory in the Pool A competition.
N Sunibala led the scoring for MPSC in the 10-8 win over YLK netting 6 goals as Ch Luxmi and N Babina contributed 2 goals apiece. For YLK, Y Monika added 4, N Sophiya netted 3 and N Aliya netted one.
Later in the second Pool A match, Ch Luxmi (8), N Sunibala (6) and N Sushila (5) contributed a bulk of 19 goals to guide MPSC to a 27-13 win over KKLYDO.
O Sandhyarani (3), L Inunganbi (2), N Babina (2) and Y Binarani (1) also contributed in MPSC’s victory as N Dolly, M Lucky, RK Nilamjoyshree netted 4 goals apiece for KKLYDO and Th Christina chipped in one for the Kongpal side.
In a Pool B match of the women’s competition staged today, KVWA, Mayang Imphal beat IMC, Thoubal by 10-8 goals thanks to a leading performance from Th Devarani, who top-scored with 6 goals.
Men’s Competition : KVWA, SSC and MPSC victorious
The day also saw KVWA, Mayang Imphal and SSC, Khurai register wins in Pool A competition as MPSC beat NSU NSU 22-13 in a Pool B match riding on 5 goals each from N Gobin, N Saratchandra and 4 goals apiece from Y Sushil and H Ingocha.
KVWA beat SSC 18-12 thanks to trebles from Yaiphaba, Shitaljit and Roshan as SSC thumped OYO thanks to major contributions from W Chingkheinganba (8), N Zidane (6) and N Robinson (6).
