IMPHAL, Jul 25: The Tangkhul Naga Long Working Committee has condemned Kuki CSO Working Committee for spreading false and baseless propaganda accusing Chatric Village Authority and NSCN-IM of blowing up bailey bridge over Namban River.
In a statement, the TNL Working Committee said the bailey bridge was the lifeline of the Nagas in the border villages, and the accusation that it was Nagas who destroyed their own invaluable lifeline is devoid of any logic.
The border Tangkhul Naga villagers had been longing for improved connectivity and the bridge constructed as such was a long cherished wish fulfilled after many years, it said.
The Nagas consider the Kukis as Christian brothers, but if it is not their desire to live in peace and harmony "they are more than welcome to leave and go wherever they wish to." Their pursuit for Kuki Homeland is a "utopian dream", it added.
