AZSU holds first Dimki Session, inducts new executive council

SENAPATI, Jul 25: The first Dimki Session of the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AZSU)-cum-induction programme for its newly elected Executive Council for the 2026–2029 tenure was held at Hangrum village in Assam on July 24.
The programme began with an invocation and a welcome address for delegates, members, senior leaders and invited guests. The induction ceremony formally entrusted the newly elected office-bearers with the responsibility of leading the Union for the next three years.
The new executive council comprises Haiheube as president, Phensongwi as vice-president, Liangkiudinbo as general secretary, Jonah Thaimei as assistant general secretary, Izaile Zeme as finance secretary, Kiselunle Z as welfare secretary, Prince Zeme as games and sports secretary, Haichidui Khate as public relations secretary, Akangbe as treasurer and Joy Kamei as auditor.
The Dimki Session deliberated on several issues concerning the community, with emphasis on strengthening unity and collective identity among the Zeliangrong people. Members stressed that sustainable progress could be achieved only through mutual respect, cooperation and solidarity among Zeliangrong organisations and individuals.
The House also expressed concern over the humanitarian challenges arising from the ongoing crisis in Manipur and extended sympathy and solidarity to affected families.
It reaffirmed AZSU’s commitment to stand with those facing hardship and resolved to continue advocating for peace, justice, security and protection of the rights and dignity of all affected people.
