CM inaugurates library building

IMPHAL, Jul 26 : Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today inaugurated a library building of Heirangoithong High School, Imphal West.
At the event, the Chief Minister stated that Government schools in the State have witnessed significant improvement over the past five to six years.
He recalled that when he was first elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, Singjamei Chingamakha High School had very few students. But, the school now has more than 200 students.
He further noted that 12 of 15 students of the school who appeared in the State board examinations secured first division, reflecting steady improvement.
The Chief Minister further expressed satisfaction that Heirangoithong High School, which was once not considered a well-performing school, has witnessed remarkable improvement.
He attributed the progress of the school to the State Government's education policies, the dedicated efforts of the teaching staff, and the formation of a committee for the school's development. "These collective initiatives have resulted in a significant increase in student enrolment, with nearly 150 students now attending the school."
Khemchand however maintained that the school's infrastructure needs to be improved to encourage more parents to enrol their children in the Government school.
Later, the Chief Minister visited Singjamei Chingamakha High School at Singjamei Chingamakha Phuramakhong, Imphal West district, where he inspected the ongoing construction works.
Neeta Arambam, Secretary, Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC); Ng Bhogendra Meitei, Director of Education (Schools); O Jamuna Devi, Headmistress, Heirangoithong High School; members of the School Management Committee; teachers and students attended the inauguration function.
