IMPHAL, Jul 3 : ACOAM-Lup, Kangleipak, marked its 26th Foundation Day on Thursday amid Manipur’s ongoing unrest, with programmes led by president Sanjit Soraisam.
As part of the observance, Lup members visited several children’s homes across the State to distribute food items and educational materials. A brief commemorative function was later held at the organisation’s office.
In its message, ACOAM-Lup extended greetings to the indigenous communities of Kangleipak and called for unity and vigilance to defeat threats against them.
It alleged that the conflict since May 3, 2023, stemmed from a “long-planned design of Kuki narco-terrorists” and said many Meiteis had laid down their lives for Kangleipak.
The Lup criticised the Central Government for “silence” and accused it of protecting Suspension of Operation (SoO) groups despite violence.
It further alleged that central forces deployed in the State were protecting Kuki property while remaining inactive during attacks on Meiteis and Nagas.
Demands raised included action against Kuki narco-terrorists, deportation of refugees, disqualification of 10 Kuki MLAs, withdrawal of central forces, military crackdown on armed groups, justice for victims, and rehabilitation of relief camp inmates.
