52nd Junior Boys’ State Kabaddi Championship begins

IMPHAL, Jul 3 : The 52nd edition of the Junior Boys’ State Kabaddi Championship 2026 began today at SLYO playground in Tekcham under the aegis of the Manipur State Kabaddi Association.
13 teams clubbed into four pools are taking part in the tournament.
The opening game of the championship saw VETO, Laphupat Tera crush SLYO, Tekcham by 62-21 points to open their Pool A campaign on a winning note.
VETO further sealed their place in the quarterfinals by defeating WSWC, Wabagai by 60-20 points in the other Pool A match staged later in the day.
In the Pool B opener, AMDASCAM, Lilong Atoukhong thumped YGC, Chingmei by 31-15 points before SAM, Kumbi got the better of ALUC, Khurai by 41-31 points in the Pool C opener. In the Pool D matches staged later in the day, CCYPAC, Lilong beat NYDA, Nongmaikhong 37-32 before YSC, Naorem went down 27-47 to NAYA, Nongmaikhong.
