IMPHAL, Jul 4 : PCC, Mayaikoibi sealed the remaining semi-final ticket from Group B in the 1st MNCA Women’s U19 T20 Trophy 2025-26 by defeating MPA, Thounaojam by 54 runs for the third win today at THAU ground.
PCC made a prolific start to the tournament with two of two first game victories before going down to runaway leaders THAU. They, however, returned to their winning way in the final league match by defending a modest total of 109 runs for 5 wickets today as they successfully restricted MPA to 55/6.
PCC raised the 109 riding on 32 extras and major contributions from Nongthombam Langlenthoibi Chanu (20 not out off 21 balls), Okram Yashica (17 off 34 balls), Hemam Lingjen (14 off 25 balls), and Yumnam Sungsung (12 not out off 20 balls).
Laishram Bandana (2/13) and Lanchenbi (1/10) shared 3 wickets for MPA today before they mustered just 55 runs in the chase following the collapse of the top order batters including 5 on ducks.
Chanambam Jesika top-scored for the team on 20 off 32 balls as Chanambam Nevia (5 off 22 balls) and Sylvenia Thokchom (1 off 16 balls) were unbeaten till the end of the innings.
Hemam Lingjen took centre-stage with a three wicket haul for PCC (3/12 in 4 overs) as Elangbam Sophia (1/6), Yumnam Sungsung (1/7), and Soubam Bidya (1/12) chipped in with a wicket apiece.
Hemam Lingjen was eventually adjudged player of the match.
PTRC crush SU by 123 runs to keep semi-final hopes alive
PTRC, Patsoi hammered SU, Sagolband by 123 runs to end their Group A campaign with two wins and keep their semi-final hopes alive at Khudeiband Lampak.
PTRC racked up a daunting total of 176 runs for the loss of 1 wicket courtesy of unbeaten half century knocks from Laitonjam Purnima (51 off 58 balls; 2 fours) and Laitonjam Benita (66 off 46 balls; 5 fours). PTRC then rode on a concerted bowling effort to restrict SU to 53/9 in reply and sealed the huge victory.
PTRC made a solid start after opting to bat first and saw Chongtham Dimple (13 off 31 balls) and L Purnima adding 52 runs for the first wicket before Benita joined hands with Purnima to stitch an unbeaten second wicket partnership of 124 runs to take PTRC to 176/1.
Laitonjam Tolika (2/7), Laishram Bigyapati (2/14), Laitonjam Linthoi (2/7), Laitonjam Alina (1/4) and Laitonjam Angelina (1/2) then kept the SU batters completely under wrap and restricted them to 53/9.
Laitonjam Benita, who smashed a half century and was involved in a run out, was adjudged player of the match.
