WBAM sees off Wheelchair Basketball player I Ritu for CWG

IMPHAL, Jul 4 : The Wheelchair Basketball Association Manipur (WBAM) functionaries, family members and well wishers today saw off State athletes Irengbam Ritu Chanu, who is set to represent India in the 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball event in Commonwealth Games to be hosted in Glasgow.
Ritu is set to become the first State athlete to compete in disabilities sports in a commonwealth games. She will join pre competition training due to be held from July 20 to 21 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Training Centre for Disabilities Sports in Gwalior before heading to Scotland, said WBAM in a press release.
WBAM also extended best wishes to Ritu and prayed for her wellbeing and success at the competition, it said.
WBAM president L Dhaneshwor Singh has been bearing major responsibility towards Ritu’s preparation for the event, said WBAM while drawing the attention of Chief Minister to provide possible assistance from his end.
