PREPAK claims, points accusing finger

IMPHAL, Jul 5 : The proscribed PREPAK has claimed responsibility for lobbing bombs at the residence of former Minister Bijoy Koijam on June 28 and July 4 as well as for the bomb blast at the residence of Phurailatpam Bhavananda Sharma at Bamon Leikai, Brahmapur Aribam Leikai on June 26.
A press release issued by the outfit’s Publicity Officer, Department of Publicity and Propaganda, Mangal Khuman alleged that Bijoy Koijam is an agent of India’s RAW and IB.
In cahoots with Indian armed forces, Bijoy Koijam has been visiting families of several Red Army cadres and urging the families to call back their sons and daughters, with an intention to wipe out PREPAK, it alleged.
Notably, the Red Army is the armed wing of PREPAK.
Bijoy Koijam must stop his anti-revolutionary activities and get in touch with the party within seven days otherwise he would be tried in the people’s court of PREPAK, the outfit said.
The outfit further appealed to the family members and relatives of the former Minister to bring him to his senses.
The outfit further alleged that Phurai-latpam Bhava-nanda, Chief Executive Officer/District Programme Coordinator, Thoubal district, currently posted at Kakching, swindled the entire amount of wage and material components of MGNREGA for the financial year 2025-25 in collusion with some accomplices.
Ph Bhavananda swindled the huge amount after the Administrative Committees of Gram Panchayats were disbanded by a Court order on August 29, 2025 along with the Zilla Parishads and Chairpersons selected by the committees, it said.
District Programme Coordinator Ph Bhavananda, Sanjenbam Seema Devi, BDO Wangjing Tentha CD Block; Kh Rakesh Singh, Junior BDO Wangjing Tentha CD Block; Kiromani, BDO Lilong Block and Surma Devi, BDO Thoubal asked many people to form committees and collected Rs 3 lakh from each committee in addition to another Rs one lakh to three lakh in the name of granting administrative sanction and technical sanction, it further alleged.
Saying that all the five persons are bloodsuckers of the masses, the outfit asked all the accomplices of Bhavananda to communicated within five days.
