Man found dead

IMPHAL, Jul 5: The lifeless body of a 25-year-old man was found near Khekman Ningthibi Khong Canal under Thoubal police station this morning.
Police have identified the deceased as Sapam Swami, son of Sapam Khomei of Leisangthem Kelimakhong.
While Thoubal police and a team of forensic experts have recovered the body for postmortem, the locals have formed a Joint Action Committee (JAC).
The JAC's convenor, Sapam Mocha, said Swami went out of his home yesterday morning for work, and was found dead mysteriously this morning.
The body of the deceased will not be claimed unless the police and agencies concerned of the Government investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and arrest all persons involved, he said.
Roshibina, the wife of the deceased, has also urged the Government and the police to arrest the persons involved and punish them.
