MAYOL takes campaign to Tumukhong

IMPHAL, Jul 5: The Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) took its mass awareness campaign on “Politics: Vote for National Regeneration” to Tumukhong village, Imphal East district today.
Speaking at the awareness campaign held at Tumukhong playground, advocate Thokchom Suresh highlighted the urgent need for all sections of people to grasp the myriad challenges facing Manipur at present and their impacts and implications in the future.
He said that people need to study the qualifications, competence and sincerity of each and every candidate.
Suresh said that all sections of people ought to join and support the MAYOL’s ongoing campaign.
MAYOL president Koijam Suresh said that their campaign will move on unabated and there is no question of backtracking.
He asserted that clean politics guided by a long term vision is the only solution to the many ills and predicament of Manipur.
It’s time for all people to wake up; it’s time to elect educated and patriotic representatives in order to realise the dream of a welfare and progress State, Suresh said.
In order to facilitate the emergence of competent and sincere candidates, all the people must pledge to stop selling votes, he said.
He asserted that development or downfall of a Nation/State is determined by the nature of its politics. It is politics which determines the fate of a Nation, he added.
