3-3 draw for Kumbi AC and Oinam AC in football opener

IMPHAL, Jul 8 : The opening day of the 1st Bishnupur District Olympic Games 2026 saw Kumbi AC hold Oinam AC to a 3-3 draw in a evenly poised Group B match at Mini Stadium, Bishnupur.
Oinam AC drew first blood with Soraisam Dhanachandra finding the target in the 19th minute before Th Korou scored the equaliser for Kumbi AC in the 33rd minute.
Kumbi AC overturned the lead three minutes later with Sanasam Jack making the most of a chance. K Langanglung Kamei however put Oinam AC back into the game by netting the equaliser before his teammate Soraisam Pritamkumar made it 3-2 after 54 minutes.
The see-saw affair continued with Soram Sumit Singh scoring in the 61st minute to put Kumbi AC on level terms yet again with Oinam AC.
Nambol AC will play Bishnupur AC in the Group A opener tomorrow afternoon from 1 pm before Moirang AC play Kumbi AC in the second Group B match from 3.30 pm. 6 teams clubbed into two groups are participating in the football tournament of the games.
