TSE bereaved, Sub-Editor passes away

IMPHAL, Oct 19: Sub-Editor of The Sangai Express (Manipuri edition) Yumnam Homer of Sagolband Meino Leirak passed away early morning today at Raj Medicity, Imphal due to a personal ailment.
Yumnam Homer is survived by his wife and a son.
He was 32.
Members of All Manipur Working Journalists Union, its president Bijoy Kakchingtabam, members of Editors' Guild Manipur, The Sangai Express publisher Nishikanta Sapam,  TSE Editor (Manipuri Edition) Khogendra Khomdram, TSE Editor (English) Hijam Rajesh and staff mourned his demise at Manipur Press Club, today.
The gathering observed two minutes silence and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. Floral tributes were paid to the photo of the deceased.
Editors' Guild Manipur has also condoled the demise of Homer and shared the pain and grief of the family members. "His untimely demise has not only left a family grieving but also the media fraternity. We share the pain his family is going through and pray to Almighty to give them strength.
We also express our sympathy to his colleagues at The Sangai Express who will miss him for forever. May his soul rest in peace," said EGM in a statement.
Public Relations Minister Th Biswajit has also condoled the demise. "His sudden demise has left a void in the field of journalism in the State. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family at this time of sorrow and loss," the Minister said in his condolence message.
Meanwhile, AMWJU Standing Committee members visited the family of the deceased and extended condolence and financial aid, said a statement of AMWJU.
The Sangai Express and the media fraternity share the pain and grief of the surviving family members.
