Upcoming Hero's Team, Manipur conducts cleanliness drive at Laipham Lotnung, Kakching

Thoubal, Oct 27: Plastic bottles can be processed to make 'Eco Brick' that can be used in constructing wall, said Principal IRE Group of Institution, Narengbam Rajivkumar Singh while attending a function organized by Upcoming Hero's Team, Manipur at Laipham Lotnung in Kakching district in connection with a cleanliness drive conducted by the team in Kakching Fish Firm and the adjoining area.
Rajivkumar continued that the people can earn profit by collecting used plastic bottles that are found scattered along the canal, in market area and rivers.
Apart from Rajivkumar, the function was also attended by Managing Director, IPAK Tours and Travel Agency Manipur, Rajesh Naorem as guest of honour and President Upcoming Hero's Team, Leishangthem Kesho as functional president.
The function began with Secy Upcoming Hero's Team, Laimujam Pratap Singh delivering the keynote address.
"Properous and advanced society can only be achieved if we keep our surrounding neat and clean. It is everyone's duty to maintain hygiene in their area", he added.
Speaking at the occasion, Senior Manager, Bank of India, Oinam Khogen said that maintaining hygiene is of paramount importance to keep all kinds of diseases at bay.
In his speech, guest of honour, Rakesh Naorem urged all to avoid disposing waste on street while driving.
He continued that Manipur is home to numerous private tourist spot but to attract more tourists we need to keep such tourist spot neat and tidy.
Later, MLA Kakching AC, Yengkhom Surchandra paid a visit at Laipham Lotnung to inspect the area and appreciated the initiative taken by the Upcoming Hero's Team, Manipur.
The MLA also asked for more such social service camp in different parts of Kakching.
As part of the function, a music programme was also held at 1 pm during which Lingjel Music Band performed a song on "Eikhoigi Akoi Luna Nanna Thamlasi".
