Film-making course concludes

IMPHAL, Nov 14:The valedictory function of the 10-day Smartphone Filmmaking Course was held today at the Department of Mass Communication, Manipur University. Registrar i/c of Manipur University Wahengbam Chandbabu was the chief guest, Film and Television Institute of India's Professor Sandeep Shahare was the president and guests of honour were Ajmal Jami and Shivek Sobti.
Certificates to the 37 participants were distributed at the function and also films made on smartphones by the participants as part of the practical assignments were screened during the function. Altogether five short films were screened.
Professor Chandbabu said the university is looking to more collaborations with FTII and would extend all possible assistance for such programmes in the future. He also talked about the importance of films and video clippings in modern day education. Professor Shahare expressed happiness that FTII is associating with Manipur University twice within a year and also said that the institute is looking forward to more collaborations with the University.
As part of closing day programme Kh Ishomani's "Kao Phaaba" and Jami's  documentary "Kerala Floods" were screened.
