24th Winners Cup: KIYC romp to 4-0 win against FC Lamjao in semi-final first leg

IMPHAL, Nov 26 : KIYC, Kshetri Iril Mapal gained upper hand  in the race for the final berth at the Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial 24th Winners' Cup 2019 as they sealed a huge 4-0 win away to FC Lamjao's home ground in the semi-final first leg today.
The Imphal East side which made their way to the semi-finals by seeing off KPFC, Bishnupur district in the quarter finals continued their fine form at Lamjao Playground with Ng Jenish opening up the account in the 18th minute before the team pump in three more goals in the second half.
FC Lamjao were left embarrassed as they were hardly seen controlling the ball and KIYC dominated the possession with crisp passing among the players and made the most of attacking chances from the onset. After starting slowly with a 1-0 lead in the first half, KIYC doubled their advantage in the 67th minute when Kh Shitaljit who was lurking  around the rival box connected to a nice pass before pulling off his markers and cracked a power-packed shot past the Lamjao side keeper. Md Sabir Ali added another KIYC's tally to leave further dent on the Kakching representatives in the 69th minute before Somison Shirok fired home the last nail in the 74th minute.
W Bipinchandra of KIYC was yellow carded by the referee in the 24th minute of the match for his unsportsmanlike behaviour.
