Beihang PHC becomes first to get NQAS certification in Manipur

Churachandpur, Nov 5: The Primary Health Centre, Behiang, located in the far flung area of Churachandpur district, achieved yet another milestone in Manipur by securing National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification.  The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has accorded NQAS certification to Primary Health Centre, Behiang, in recognition of the high standards of quality and performance maintained by the health centre.
It is the first PHC to get NQAS certification in Manipur.
The facility underwent assessment by a two-member team of empanelled external assessors from the 27th to 28th September, 2019.
The PHC scored 92.5% and met all the criteria required for National Quality Certification. Hence, the Primary Health Centre, Behiang, Churachandpur is quality certified under NQAS.
The staff of the PHC along with Medical Officer in-charge Dr Steve M Tungnung have bagged the prestigious Kayakalp Award for 3 consecutive years.
Chief Minister N Biren has also presented the PHC with the ‘Best Hill PHC Award 2017’ and Dr Tungnung was also awarded the Best Officer Award 2017 by the District Admin Churachandpur.
