IMPHAL, Nov 30: Lamen-ting the predicament often faced by the State due to several issues whenever the BJP comes to power, Shiv Sena Manipur State Unit has demanded the CSOs con- cerned of the State to be invited immediately for necessary consultations regarding the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
Speaking to media persons at Shiv Sena State Unit office at Babupara today, its president M Tombi convey-ed that he himself had met many Central leaders, including Union Home Minis- ter Amit Shah and, caution-ed them against passing the CAB .
Following the constant assurance made by Amit Shah to implement CAB across the Nation, an all political party delegation from the State, including the Chief Minister, even met Union Home Minister. During that meeting, Amit Shah promised to consult the CSOs, the political parties and all the stakeholders concerned before the Bill is produced in the Parliament, he reminded.
Condemning the failure to invite Manipur based CSOs to a consultative meeting convened by the Centre for consultation on CAB, even though all other CSOs of the NE region were invited, Tombi demanded the Centre to invite the State CSOs immediately.
The Central and State Governments must bear responsibility for any untoward incident which might occur in the future if the State CSOs are left out, he cautioned.
It is unfortunate that one issue or the other crops up in Manipur whenever the BJP is in the Centre. The State Government must try to bring back the Inner Line Permit System which was lifted off from Manipur in 1950, he demanded.
On the other hand, he expressed happiness at the formation of a Government by Shiv Sena, led by its National president Uddhav Thackeray, in Maharashtra.
