Manipur's U-19 girls Jeet Kune Do team were crowned the team champions of the 65th National School Games U-19 Jeet Kune-Do competition which concluded today while the boys team finished second runners up. The event was held since December 23 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
State girls managed 4 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals out of State's 16 medal haul to claim the champions title, said a press statement of Jeet Kune-Do Association of Manipur. Ng Saniya (-45 kg), A Tushila Devi (59-61 kg), H Memthoi Chanu (55-57 kg) and L Abethoi (57-59 kg) won the gold medals while L Linthoi Chanu (45-47 kg), N Rani Chanu (53-55 kg) and H Dayani Devi (51-53) bagged silver medals. S Sanjita Devi added the only bronze medal to State's tally. On the other hand, State's boys team earned 3 silver and 5 bronze medals to settle for the second runners up title. L Arundas (-45 kg), S Kenedy (49-51 kg) and Md Mujahid (57-59 kg) were among the silver medallists while those who bagged bronze medals were S Jackson Singh (45-47 kg), Jenil Chongtham (47-49 kg), Ch Bolendro Singh (51-53 kg), Ch Borish Singh (55-57 kg) and Ng Sanathoi (59-61 kg).
