Abe, Modi to visit Manipur on December 17

IMPHAL, Dec 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe would visit the State on December 17 to pay homage to the soldiers killed during the Second World War in Manipur at Maibam Lotpa Ching.
The two Prime Ministers will hold a two-day summit at Guwahati in mid-December. After the summit, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will visit Manipur and he would be accompanied by Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, ahead of the high profile visit, Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu held a meeting today with DGP LM Khaute, administrative secretaries and the DCs and SPs of Imphal West and Bishnupur districts.
The meeting reviewed the preparations being made for the two Prime Ministers’ visit to the State.
The meeting also reviewed the security measures being taken up for the high profile visit.
Apart from paying homage to the Japanese soldiers killed during the Second World War at the India Peace Memorial, the two Prime Ministers would also visit the India Peace Museum.
