IMPHAL, May 13 : YWC-Langthabal managed a convincing 3-0 win against ESU, Wangkhei today at Mapal Kangjeibung to set up title clash of 1st Sapam Tombi Singh Memorial Sub-Junior Girls Inter Club Football Tournament 2019 with ICSA, Irengbam, on May 16.
YWC-L got off to a flying start to lead the first half 2-0 against ESU, Wangkhei and pumped in one more goal in the second half to complete the 3-0 rout.
Hoineihat took the centre-stage in this semi-final clash as she scored twice for YWC including the opener in the 19th minute of the match. YWC continued to pile up pressure after the opener to underline their dominance and it was T Thoibisana who capitalised on a nice change to double the team's lead in the 25th minute.
YWC slowed the pace in the second half as the Wangkhei strengthened the defence line up besides making some tactical changes trying to cut the gap.
ESU's effort however went in vain as YWC proved superior in all departments and did well to keep all threats at bay and ESU's revival hope was further shredded as Hoineihat fired in her second goal and the team's third in the 40th minute of the match.
YWC then sit deep at the back and hold their lead till the final whistle for a big finish.
