RFC, ESO-A cruise into quarter finals of 8th ESO Football Tournament
By Our Sports Reporter IMPHAL, May 15 : RFC, Khamnam Leirak thrashed Apunba FC, Sagolband and ESO-A, Bamdiar overwhelmed Lanchenbi FC, Taobungkhok 6-1 to ensure their places in the quarter finals of the 8th ESO Football Tournament 2019 organized by Education Social Organization (ESO) Club Bamdiar Makha Leikai at its ground today. Kishan shone in the first pre-quarter final match as he scored a treble to earn RFC a commanding 5-1 win against Apunba FC. Sobha put RFC in the front-foot as he struck the opener in the 18th minute after Apunba FC showed some fine defending in the earlier proceedings while Kishan opened the floodgate the very next minute before striking two more goals in the 37th and the 50th minute. Herojit netted the final goal in the 45th minute as John of Apunba FC grabbed a consolation goal a minute earlier. Meanwhile in the second pre-quarter final match, Bipin scored twice while Kishan, Anand, Loken and Dinesh score a goal each to help ESO-A trounce Lanchenbi FC by a massive 6-1 margin. Kishan gave ESO the opener early in the 7th minute of the match while Anand struck the second for the team in the 21st minute before Herojit of Lanchenbi FC pulled back a goal in the 27th minute. Bipin of ESO-A then netted the third goal in the 33rd minute to set his team apart from the Taobungkhok side by 2 goals and his compatriot Loken further extended the lead to 4-1 in the 42nd minute. Lanchenbi FC's revival was literally over by then and their condition further worsened as Bipin hit his second and the team's fifth in the 49th minute before Dinesh drove home the final goal to complete the 6-1 rout a minute latter. YWC, Langthabal will meet Old Men's United, Ghari in the 3rd pre-quarter final match tomorrow at 2 pm while ESO-B will take on LASHAL, Leimapokpam Khunpham in the 4th pre-quarter final match latter at 3.30 pm.
