PUPU beat FVWA 3-1 to register third successive win in 21st Challenge Cup

IMPHAL, May 18 : PUPU, Pungdongbam wrapped up Group E campaign in style as they beat FVWA, Mapal Kangjeibung 3-1 to secure their third successive win in the ongoing 21st Challenge Cup organised by Manipur Veteran Football Association at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
It was an interesting game as PUPU FC which trailed FVWA in the first half managed a big 3-1 comeback win today. FVWA started the game on a positive note with T Sarat making the first strike in the 21st minute to give his team a 1-0 lead till the break. The game however took a huge turn in the second half as PUPU entered the field with more purpose and better understanding. FVWA did well to soaked up the pressure for a while but PUPU managed to draw level in the 42nd minute with the help of Rohen. PUPU continued to dominate the possession and overturned the lead with N Naobi beating past FVWA keeper in the 48th minute before Sanjoy banged in the finisher in the 58th minute.
Meanwhile AMBA, Cheirap Court were handed full points and three goals as FVC-B, Singjamei did not turn up for another Group E fixture of the day.
