IMPHAL, May 20: A team of officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare led by Joint Secretary (Integrated Nutrient Management) Neerja Adidam arrived here today to take stock of the different projects/activities taken up in the State under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER).
Soon after arrival, the team inspected different activities of the Farmers Producer Company before visiting the Sanjenthong organic outlet and CAU, Iroishemba.
Neerja Adidam and his team also inspected the activities of Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS), Mantripukhri.
Notably, DSSS is engaged in packaging and marketing ginger and turmeric powder.
They also visited M/S Rima Foods, Lamlong where different eatables are processed.
At CAU, VC Dr M Premjit demonstrated a technology of adding value to pineapple pulps after extracting juice and grinding the pulps into powder.
Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) Project Director K Debdutta said that Neera Adidam and his team came to the State to make detailed assessment of the different activities taken up in the State during the last three years under MOVCDNER. The team would continue their assessment tomorrow too and they would also take part in an interaction programme with farmers, Debdutta said.
