17th Sub-Junior and Junior Wushu Championship gets underway

IMPHAL, May 21 : The 19th State Level Sub-Junior and Junior Wushu Championship organised by Wushu Association of Manipur was inaugurated in the presence of Moirangthem Noren Singh, Chief Engineer PWD as chief guest at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex today.
M Noren, in his speech as chief guest during the inaugural function, urged all to join hands and uproot the divisive ideas with the true spirit of sportsmanship. He said that dissension and disunity within a sports body or organisation will do no good to the players and to the cause for which the body was established.
Noren also called for early solution to all differences among the divisions or factions so as to form a more effective body and visualise a common goal. The inaugural function was also graced by Y Budhachandra Singh (BC Singh), founder secretary of Manipur Olympic Association; N Bina Chanu, member, Wushu Association of Manipur and Mayanglambam Biramani Singh, president, Wushu Association of Manipur as dignitaries. Around 100 athletes from 8 units namely, Central Wushu Institute; Universal Wushu Academy, Imphal East District Wushu Association; Imphal West District Wushu Association; District Wushu Association Kakching; District Wushu Association Thoubal are taking part in this championship which will continue till 23 of this month.
